School District Number 25 serves the greater Pocatello area, including the city of Chubbuck for a total population exceeding 60,000 residents. The student population of District Number 25 is slightly less than 12,000. The District includes fourteen elementary schools, three middle schools, three high schools, an alternate middle school and an alternate high school. The total instruction and support staff total some 1,300 people.

The District offers a progressive curriculum modern facilities, an excellent salary and fringe benefit package and many opportunities for cultural and recreational activities. Pocatello is also home of Idaho State University, and excellent opportunities are available for further training on the university campus.

The District is within easy driving distance of Yellowstone and Grand Teton National Parks and the Crater of the Moon National Monument. In the immediate vicinity are plenty of locations for snowmobiling, cross country and alpine skiing, hunting, fishing, camping, mountain biking, and backpacking. Pocatello has year-round swimming and tennis facilities, horse and auto racing, athletic clubs which offer a wide variety of recreational and fitness programs, a trap shooting range, a playhouse theater, symphony orchestra concerts and a host of other cultural events. The District is located 150 miles east of Boise and l60 miles north of Salt Lake City at the junction of Interstate 15 and Interstate 86.

Nestled at 4,448 feet in the western foothills of the Rocky Mountains, Pocatello has an unusually desirable four-season climate where clear, sunny and dry is the norm. Summers are dry and warm with the July mean temperature at 72.4 degrees. The average daily temperature during winter months is 35.4 degrees.
